A Beautiful Day fo a Picnic and a Hike

We had a wonderful fun day today! The weather was perfect. It was about 75 degrees and sunny and a little breeze. We went to Riveredge Nature center and had a family picnic. After our picnic we went for a hike. We ran into a group studying the vernal pond and Ella was able to look into their bowls and see what they had found. They had things like tadpoles, salamandar larvae, cadis fly larvae, dragonfly and damsilfly larvae, leaches, and tiny fish. She loved it. After ou hike we went and got ice cream cones. It was Sophies first cone. She loved it. She did pretty good eating it with minimal mess. It was just the best family day. Thank you Lord for the beautiful day and for our family. You are such an amazing God. You have blessed us with such wonderful creations!

I've Got A Brand New Pair of Roller Skates

We went to rummage sales this weekend and Ella brought her own money that she had been saving. She found this beautiful pair of flower Barbie roller skates and just had to have them. I was a little less enthuastic, however. I was just thinking of all of the bumps and bruises and scrapes.... Well, she insisted on trying them on and took a test run while holding my hand. That's all it took to convince her beyond a doubt that she "needed" those skates. She was so excited, how could I say no? She took them up to the lady and paid for them herself. Then she squeeled and ran down the driveway announcing to everyone "I got skates! I got roller skates!". It was too cute! So, today she finally got to try them out at home. She actually does pretty well. I was impressed that she was able to fall down and get back up without shedding a single tear.

Our little girl is growing up so fast! She is almost four you know. Ella is our sweet big girl. She is such a good big sister. She always lets us know when Sophia is getting into trouble. She comes running out saying "Mommy, It's a mergency! It's a mergency! Come quick!".

She really thinks about things too. A couple of weeks ago after we said our bedtime prayers she said, "Mommy, I think God has a dollhouse and he just moves us around, you know. Except we can't see Him." Now she continues to expand on that with thoughts like: "I think God is playing a game and moving us around." and "Maybe God is watching us on TV.". She still prays at every prayer "God please don't let daddy get sprayed by a skunk."

She also loves to watch the birds with us and is learning to identify the Orioles, Grossbeaks, and Indigo Buntings. She even knows if it is a mommy or a daddy bird. She gets so excited when she sees a new bird at the feeder. We like to look them up in the bird book together.

"Lord thank you so much for our precious Ella. She brings sunshine to our lives."

Sophie's turn

I decided to write a litttle about Sophia today. She is growing so fast and changing so much. She is such a stinker. She can always find trouble. We went to our pastor's house for supper Thursdy night and as soon as we walked in the door she was at the coffee table pointing at the candy dish and grunting for some candy. I don't even know how she knew what it was. When she wasn't strapped in the high chair she was finding candles, plants and other glass decorations to grab at. Of course she wasn't interested in any of the toys they had set out. We went outside after dinner and she was squirming to get down. Well, she found the only muddy spot in the yard and got mud all over her pants and her jacket. We just can't put her down or let her out of our sight for a second. At the same time, however, she is such a sweet heart. She loves to give hugs and kisses (even to big sister Ella). She also just loves her Daddy. When he isn't home and she hears a noise in another room or downstairs, she makes a bee-line for wherever the noise came from while squeeling and saying "Da-da. Da-da". No one can make her smile as big as daddy can (not even mommy). Her vocabulary at his point consists of ma-ma, da-da, ousigh (outside), nigh-nigh, ba-ba (for bye-bye and baby), Ella, stop, Pa-pa, and hiya. Oh, she also says uh-oh all of the time. In fact, Ella and I have kind of nicknamed her uh-oh. It just seems to suit her since she is so mischievous. Lately she has been walking around saying "wiggo wiggo wiggo". It is kind of funny and cute. She loves to walk around and climb on things. She is a little dare devil. Often she will be on a piece of furniture or a toy and just stand up and put her hands over her head. Her favorite thing to do is be outside. She loves going for walks and looking out the window. She doesn't really play with toys much with the exception of her flute. She also has a favorite super soft little blanket from Grandma Kerr that she affectionately calls nigh-nigh. "Thank you so much God for our little Sophie bug!"

Our news

Many, or most, of you know we are expecting baby Graham number three in November (November 21st is the due date). I am at the end of the first trimester and am totally ready for the happy, feeling better, second trimester to begin. I pray that the second trimester is happy and feel better.;) I just finished my semester at school and am ready to be off for the summer! I will take a class again in the fall. It is my last class before I start student teaching. I will postpone student teaching, however, until the following fall as to have more time with the new baby and the girls. Warren just lost his job at Tecumseh, where he had been working for a little over a year, and is now searching again. He had an interview last Friday that sounded pretty promising. He would love to get the position. It is right here in Port! We have faith that the Lord will provide no matter what (or when). Ella will be four at the end of the month. She is so funny and imaginative. She will start 4-K in the fall. Sophia is 15-months. She is going to be our little trouble maker. She is walking all over and she loves to climb and get into things. She has no fear. We hope this finds you all well!

First post

I finally started my own blog! Now we will see if I can keep up with it. I don't feel as though I have any great words of wisdom or anything profound to share. I just hope this can be a way for our family and friends to keep up with our growing family. So, welcome family and friends. I hope that I can keep this up for you all to enjoy!
